Woah There!

Last year around this time Mayra and I went to Denver for the Real vs Rapids game. We went on a rick shaw ride around 16th street thanks to Julia Kali and Sara. We thought we would die. Sara just dug up these AMAZING pics and finally posted them LOVE LOVE LOVE especially the second one. But then again I always love a good action shot...

Maxwell

Awhile back around 2am Allison and I were walking around downtown. It was a hot summer night and we were enjoying our walk. Randomly as we passed a hotel suddenly this ran out from under a car:

He was skinny, timid, missing fur, and absolutely filthy. I asked the hotel if they knew who he belonged to, and the man said "He hangs around because guests feed him. Hes a nuisance. We are having him destroyed this week."
Naturally, I wasn't to found of that idea. So..... meet Max! (I know. I'm a sucker for a furry face.) Max, named after Max, from Where The Wild Things are and The Beatles, lives here now. He is scared to death of everything, but loves to cuddle and purr.

Ya, I'm pretty sure we love him.

On To The Next

(Jen Candance and I on my last day)

My time at Nordstrom is dunzo. I gave it a really good go but after 6 months I gave my two weeks, and my last day was Saturday. Life is to short to be miserable at your job. I tried and tried and kept thinking it would get better, but it just didn't. There were parts I loved. (The customers, the friendships I made, talking fashion all day...) But unfortunately the negatives outweighed the positives. (The hours, the selfishness of certain co-workers, standing on your feet 8 hours a day...) Anywho I got a new job doing advertising and some office help. The pay is less, but happiness and time are things money can't buy. I've never felt a job defines you as a person. YOU define you as a person. And like I said, Life is to short to be miserable.

So, onto the next! Bigger and better things are still to come!

Sunshine Song

Well, sometimes the sun shines on other peoples’ houses and not mine,
And the sky paints the clouds in a way it takes away my summertime,
And somehow the sun keeps shining upon you while I struggle to get by,
If there’s a light in everybody, send out your ray of sunshine.

I wanna walk the same roads as everybody else, through the trees and past the gates,
Getting’ high on heavenly breezes and making new friends along the way.
I won’t ask much of nobody. I’m just here to sing along,
And make my mistakes look gracious and learn some lessons from my wrongs.

Sometimes the sun shines on other peoples’ houses and not mine,
While the sky paints the sky all gray and takes away the summertime,
And somehow the sun keeps shining upon you while I struggle to get by,
If there’s a light in everybody, send out your ray of sunshine.

Oh, if this little light of mine combined with yours today,
How many watts could we burn away? How many villages couldn’t we save?
If my umbrella’s tired of the weather, weathered me down…
Well look at me no-ow.

You should look as good as your outlook.
Would you mind if I took some time, to soak up your light, your beautiful light?
You’ve got a paradise inside.
I get hungry for love and thirsty for life,
Much too full of the pain, ‘cause when I look to the sky to help me,
It most always looks like rain.

Sometimes the sun shines on other peoples’ houses and not mine,
While the sky paints the clouds in a way it takes away my summertime,
Somehow the sun keeps shining upon you while I kindly stand by,
A little light never hurt nobody; send out your ray of sunshine.

You’re undeniably warm, cerulean, you’re perfect in design.
I hope you’ll hang around,
so the sun it can shine on,
And the clouds they can roll away,
And the sky can become our possibility.
There’s a light in everybody, send out your ray of sunshine.

Fall Fashion Fun

Seeing as I'm trying really hard to get out of debt when it came to getting a few new items to update my wardrobe for fall I was extremely choosy. Here are my fave picks. I can't wait till I get to wear them!

Fereglicous Ryder Boots in Taupe. The boots originally came out last year in the "Fergie" brand, a more expensive line. They were around $200 and were made of leather so naturally, I didn't buy them. But this year the "Fergalicous" brand released them Not leather & much more affordable! Especially after I got them on sale!

I am obsessed with this cropped Bambi sweatshirt. I remember the first day I saw it I fell in love. To bad it cost $128!! For a sweatshirt! So sadly I put it back Well I waited and it went on sale! (plus my discount) I so love it.
I love a good stripy sweater and this one is so soft and comfy. And 100% cotton. Trust me. When buying shirts/sweaters cotton is the fabric to go with. Someday I'll explain why. Loves it. PS never Never NEVER under any circumstance buy rayon/acrylic. NEVER.
You've heard me mention Zella leggings before, but now just in time for fall they come in Brown! Yay! I can't wait to wear these bad boys.
I LOVE these. I have been searching for non leather tan girly combat boots since last year, And I finally found them. :)

Interesting People

Its amazing how some times it takes one toxic person to make you realize who your true friends are how remarkably wonderful and beautiful (inside and out!) some of them truly are.
After speaking to my friend I've known longer then anybody about a situation I'm in with a certain "friend" she said something that really made me stop and think. She simply remarked about how I have always made a point to surround myself with really talented and interesting people and as opposed to focusing on this girl I should focus on that. So here it is a tribute to some of the most awe-inspiring people I know.

ERIC & CYNTHIA

Eric and Cynthia are a fantastic packaged deal. They both are 100% themselves. They are loving and always willing to help a friend out when they can, no questions asked. Eric is a computer wiz and Cynthia always knows the right thing to say. Cynthia is the girl that will hold you when you cry and Eric was always willing to be my fake boyfriend if ever I was in the need for one. What more could a girl ask for?

THE GREAT AND DISTINGUISHED CLAW

Emily is one of the kindest and smartest girls ever. I've known her since 7th grade and have not once heard her speak and unkind word about anyone. She is sensitive and caring beyond words and can also be one the most hilarious girls to be around too. When I need extra smart advice Emily is the first one I turn to. And to top it off she is a brilliantly talented writer!

DEREK RICHARDS WRIGHT

Derek also ranks up there with my super smart friends. He is brave, encouraging, and completely selfless. He is honest and completely trustworthy. Derek is the friend you call if you are stranded, need ice cream or even just a hug. He can always make me feel better when someone hurt me, even when he is a million miles away.

JENNY I GOT YOUR NUMBER

I have known this chica since 2nd grade. And while we have had our fair share of girl drama, we also know we can count on each other for anything at anytime. Jenny does more volunteer work then anyone I've ever met, And has an amazing voice. Plus, we both share a love of saving animals. I can't even begin to imagine what the last 22 years of my life would of been like without Jenny.

PINKY FRIEND

I met my Pinky up at Sundance years ago when Matthew Perry decided to blow us off. We were instant besties due to the love we both share of collecting pics with celebs. No we are not stalkers. We prefer the term "Celebrity Enthusiast" Pinky is one the most fearless, funny, and wonderful people I know. How many people would help make sure a certain famous movie star I plan on marrying doesn't leave you behind without a pic. Not many. But my Pinky would and has. Her ability to spot a celebrity from blocks away continues to amaze me. I never laugh as much as when I'm with Pinky. I sure miss her!!

Note: clearly I can't find all the wonderful people in my life in one post, so please stay tuned for a follow up....

Good Ideas

I have a four year old friend named Will. The other day we had a conversation. It went like this

"Hey Will, you are growing up so fast. You are getting old. What do you want to do before you get old?"

"You mean before I'm six?"

"Yeah. What do you want to so with your life before you are old?"

"I want to take the training wheels of my bike and play with my friend Jake"

Sounds like a great idea to me.

So Long Summer...

It's the first day of fall.
Every since I was a little girl, summer has always been my favorite time of year. I love getting in a car so hot you can't touch anything. I love wearing tank tops, sandals, and sunglasses everyday. I love playing in the sprinklers and watching soccer games and not freezing. I love driving at night with the windows down. I hate when Summer ends. I always feel like there are things I didn't get to do, outfits I forgot to wear , or events that I missed out on.

This year has been especially bad. I missed dinners with friends, outdoor concerts, birthday parties, farmers markets, bridal showers, family dinners and much more. I worried Rowan would forget who I was. I couldn't even go to school. I was so tired all summer I barely remember it. Especially July. What a waste. And on top of it my feet ache so constantly that it made it hard to go on summer walks.

Thus I've decided I won't lose my fall too. I want to go to Halloween parties, carve pumpkins, see friends who come to town and drink hot chocolate. I want to have time to do my homework. I want to watch the leaves change and be awake enough to enjoy it. I want to go on fall walks and crunch the fallen leaves with my feet.

So, I'm making some changes.

When I think of the happiest time of my life, summer/fall 2009 is always the first time to come to mind. Not because I was making loads of dough, this was in fact one of the brokest times of my life, but because I had time. I had time to spend with all my friends. Time to keep my car and room clean. Time to sleep, read books, watch movies with my cats, and go to dinner with my mom. Time to sit outside and feel the sun on my face, hear the leaves crunch or play in the snow. The older I get the more I realize how important it is to choose how you spend your time wisely. Money is great. I would love to have more of it, but I also would also like to look back on my life and think I choose to spend my time doing things I love and being with the people I care about. Not crying everyday then spending 8 hours in the dark corner of a department store, only seeing the sun when I went to eat lunch. A friend of mine who's life I always envied used to say: "Work to live, don't live to work". He's right. Life is short. If I die tomorrow, it will be people at my funeral, not shoes, coats, or fancy cars. When I die I want people to say I had time for them when they needed me, I could pick them up from the airport, and they loved having dinner with me. I want them to say, that the memories we made were amazing. Not that I had a "great" job that consumed all my time and that they never saw me. I want to feel happy again.
I'm pretty scared and not sure how I'll do it, but, like I said, I'm making some changes...stay tuned and wish me luck.

Some Happenings

I'm sorry. I have been the worst blogger ever this summer. The absolute worst! Blame Nordstrom. It is pretty much is sucking me dry. Anyhow, here are some important happenings I forgot to report on.

Jessica got married! So we fist pumped.

Scotty....

...and Spencer came to town!

We all had a VERY fun week.

Jeremiah and I took this picture where we both have giant green eyes.

I made Kate go to Meet The Team Day with me. She has so much patience.

I Finally got to go eat snacks with this two fantastic ladies.

*Also I ate a lot of Gazpacho from the Dodo, rescued a man and a cat in one night, spoke in a British accent for like 3 hours one time, and wore strappy flat sandals almost every day.
I'm going to miss the summer....

Two Cups.

Image via Le Love

For as long as I can remember my bra size has been a 34B I've had Victoria's Secret measure me several times and I've always been a 34B. I have not had any major weight gain or lost any major weight.

Turns out Victoria's Secret is run by a bunch of idiots.

I have never felt bras fit right. But I always just thought I had weird boobs. My bras have always gaped at the top and I thought it was because I just had small boobs. My back has always hurt, and my bras seem to need to be replaced every month. Well, I've noticed the under wire on my bras bending. Finally I went and asked my assistant manager and Nordstrom who used to work in lingerie about it. She informed me I am in fact not a 34B I am a 32D!!! Two other people that work in lingerie said the same thing. That's way off. I maybe cried. I have a least $500 worth of unworn VS Biofit bras that they won't give me my money back on. I don't want store credit, because I don't plan on shopping there ever again.

After this happened to me several more girls in my department went to get measured. Every single girl, that had previously been fit by VS was wearing the wrong size. Most were, like me, off by at least 2 cup sizes.

While I am pleased to finally be wearing a bra that fits correctly, I am extremely frustrated at VS. You would never wear shoes that fit wrong so why wear a bra that didn't fit right. Ladies, please go see a fit specialist at Nordstrom. And don't think it will cost more then VS. Many of their bras are under $40 and right now through the 31st, for the sale they have really great bras around $25. Please do yousrself this one favor.

Last Friday Night

Well friends, its been awhile. Don't hate on me to hard. I've been working like 400 hours a week! Thankfully I got a chance to go up to Park City Friday night and spent some time with my favorite people! Pictured Here:

We had a delicious dinner at Maxwells, followed by some time spent at Silver lounge then we finished up at The Downstairs. While at the downstairs we ran into some of Courtney's friends and an improtu "serious" photo shoot commenced. Courtney and Eric were much better at it then me and Scott.

I love this one. It looks like a fashion shoot.
So dramatic.
We however sucked at dramatic. Hence this ridiculous photo that resulted when someone yelled. "Do Abercrombie!"

For Pinky

Celebs just love me and Pinky. Here we are with Joe Manganiello one of the stars of True Blood.

But seriously, how nice is Joe?

Best. Video. Ever.

Sometimes I'm in movies with famous people.
Sometimes I'm in love with those famous people.
Just watch from 0:10-0:20.

This will totally make the cut when I edit our wedding video.
Please don't judge me when you hear the pure desperation in my voice when I shreak "Thank you SO much". (why am I so nasely?!?!)
It's a shame you can't hear any of the sweet nothings he whispered to me do to the wind.
God bless You Tube.
Anyone know how I can save this video forever somehow?

Fourth Of July Fun!

See this dude:

He is kinda ridiculously hot. He also happens to be one of my favorite soccer players ever. He played for the USMNT during the last world cup. His name is Benny Feilhaber. Well his club team used to be overseas, but this year he signed a contract with the New England Revolution.

Now see me with him!!! WINNING!

Hope you all had a safe and happy Holiday!

Ride Of Our Lives

So how many Nordstrom employees can you fit on a bike taxi and still be able to pedal around downtown? Turns out four. Four plus one RSL employee. ;) Last Saturday we had a girls night out where we started at Red Door, headed to Gracie's, then somehow ended up letting this Justin Bobby type hot guy give us a ride on his bike taxi.

What a ride! We felt the wind in our hair, screamed when we thought we were going to die, and laughed A LOT. It was so fun to head out with some great old friends and some fun new ones.

Here we are pictured with our driver. Who's name I can't recall...
