Frog & Pig

Last week I got an email from Build-A-Bear. (Why I get e-mails from them, I do not know...) This email announced that I could build a Kermit. (A KERMIT!!!) Now, seeing as I collect Kermits, I was there. The day the Kermit were released to the public in fact. (It said limited supply people. What do you want from me!?!) Well naturally I pulled out the BFF card on Mayra and made her come build a Miss. Piggy to go with my Kermit The Frog. The outfits were a little pricey, so Kermit just got a t-shirt. How cute are our Frog & Pig! So fun.

You And I Both

Because I think he is genius.
Because his music has saved me more then once.
Because this is my favorite song of his and he doesn't sing it enough.
Because I named my kitty after him & he loves it.
Because he is a kind person who cares about the world.
Because it fits my mood.
Because it's my blog and I can do what I want.
That's why.

Five Friday Faves: Sundance Edition

Five of the pics that made me extra happy from Sundance 2012.

I hate playing favorites with my Sundance pics, but here are five of the pics I feel most pleased about.

Martin Starr, is one of my Sundance Unicorns, it always seems impossible to find Martin Starr. I always miss him by 2 or 3 mins. But not this year! YAY! I think he is beyond funny. He is my fave part of Knocked Up.

Mehcad Brooks played Eggs on True Blood. He is also completely gorgeous. I love this pic due to our matching ensembles. We also saw him at least 450 times this Sundance. Yes, he knows our names.

Ariel Winter is lovely. I hands down believe Modern Family is the best sitcom on TV. Everyone on it is fantastic, so, I was very excited to get a pic with Ariel. Plus she is the cutest, sweetest thing ever.

Eric Roberts turned out to be one of the nicest celebs I ever met. So sweet & kind to the mob of people that ran up to him after Pinky & I spotted him. (Woopsy) Plus how sweet is the photo? I mean come on...

You all know my love for Ben Lyons. We are totes adorbs together, so of course he makes my list.

Happy weekend all!

Each Day

The first three I can help you with, the last one is up to you.....

one ought, each day at least,
to hear a good song,
read a good poem,
see a fine picture,
and, if possible,
speak a few reasonable words.

-Johann Wolfgang Von Goethe

SONG:
93 Million Miles -Jason Mraz (This song is beautiful. Trust me.)

Lucky

I am one lucky girl. As you probably know I love Jason Mraz. Not in the same way I love James Franco, but I do love him. I think his music is amazing, heartfelt, beautiful and well, perfect. I just want to become his best friend and live on his avocado farm.

Jason had a concert at Sundance last Friday. Somehow finding a way in to this concert was harder then, well, pretty much anything apparently. (Believe me, I tried...)

Well things started to look up after the concert. Jason came out and I got my pics with him. ( I have wanted a redo pic since the first time I met him and I looked like a hot mess)
In between the taking of these photos I told Jason I named my cat after him. His response?
He put his hand over his heart and said "I love that" it was the most sincere, perfect and sweet response. He is one of the most down to earth people I have ever met.
Later that night I had the opportunity to work the door at Extra TV party for the new Michael Cera movie The End Of Love (Thanks Allison!) The party was held at the Canyons ski resort at the top of the gondola. is was so cool. I wish I would of taken more pics. Oops. (Don't I always say that!?!?)

Anyway during my shift at the door a man announced he was waiting to take Jason Mraz up to perform. I had no clue he was going to perform. Head. Explosion. I then begged his music guy to not start the show till I made it up the gondola again (Desperate times call for desperate measures people...)

He said he would stall till 10:15 because my shift was supposed to end at 10:00. (See my luck kept on coming!) So, the girl from the PR firm tells me I can be in charge of checking Jason in. Then he walks up and says "Hi, You said you were going to be working the door!" because he remembers me from earlier (I DIE)
Well I made it in time, and was dying, as I stood directly in front of Jason for his performance. The above pic does not do justice to how close I really was. I could of reached up and touched his guitar. (Without stretching mind you) I maybe cried when he sang I'm Yours. I was just so completely over-whelmed at how blessed I was. This was honestly one of the best experiences of my entire life. (And I got to share it with 3 of my best friends!) I have never felt so amazed, happy and well, lucky ever.

As if it couldn't get better, after his performance a DJ began to play and Jason hopped into the audience and began dancing with everyone. (You best believe that Courtney and I boxed him in)

>So here it is my one moment to say anything to Jason Mraz and I say "I swear I'm not stalking you" Good one Heidi. Wah wah. His response "It's okay, I'm not stalking you either."

BEST NIGHT EVER.

Like I said, I am one lucky, lucky girl.

Five Friday Faves-Winter Edition

Yes, its true I'm not a huge fan of snow/cold/winter. But since we finally had snow last week (And I realize how important snow is to UT for so many different reasons...) I present to you my Five Friday Faves, Winter Edition.

Fave Winter Accessory:

Scarves. All kinds! As long as they are soft. I always check a scarf for softness before purchase.

Fave Winter Spot:

Um yeah. Who wouldn't want to cuddle up on this porch with a hot chocolate and an even hotter boy? I feel like a deer could just wander up and take a snack from your hand.

Fave Cute Winter Thing:

I'm a big fan of the word "smitten".

Second Fave Cute Winter Thing:
Snowmans in love. So cute.

Fave Winter Pic:

Okay, to be honest I have no clue if this pic was even taken in winter, or of that's snow, but its to die for. Clearly my romantical side has started to come out.
(Don't worry my cynical, bitter, angry side will return soon I'm sure)

And a bonus, LOVE this song: Ingrid Michaelson -Men of Snow

Happy Snow Days Everybody. Enjoy it while it lasts.

A Minor Slip Up...

Okay, okay I had a minor slip up in my life plan and kinda went shopping. Just a little though! I've curbed my problem a lot, but sometimes I slip and buy a few things. Don't hate. I've been so good and these are beyond cute!
(This pics do not do my new pretties justice!)

Gibson Riding Jacket- I LOVE this blazer so much! It screams Kate Middleton, and it fits perfectly! Plus I got it at the rack so it was a steal! 60% off! I plan on wearing in with everything.

Soprano Dress- I have absolutely no idea where I will wear this dress, but I will save it for the perfect occasion, and wear it then. I love it. It fits like a dream. The only difference is I got it in a fantastic steel gray color.

No more shopping for me this month!

No Cell Service

Guess what? Someone else took NYE pics! Yay! I am pleased because I forgot to post about one of my favorite things about this NYE and now I have pics to go with the post.

My favorite thing at this NYE had to be this: No. Cell. Reception. I've never been a huge fan of hanging out with your friends and then looking around the room and everyone is either face-booking, twittering, or texting. I am a firm believer that you should spend time with the people who are actually in the room with you, but the majority of the people I know do not feel the same way.

But guess what happens when you cell phone reception disappears? Wait for it.... You talk to people actually in the room with you! Bold, I know. It was so enjoyable to be at a party and have everyone focused on the the people in the room with them. At a normal party if you didn't know everyone there the chances of meeting new people and actually talking to them would be slim.

Think about when you go out and a friend goes to the bathroom, or is talking to someone and you are left solo. Whats the first thing you do? Play on your phone to look busy. (I'm as guilty as anyone) But when the cell phone/security blanket is gone and you are (gasp) forced to talk to people in person magical things happen.

TRUST ME. Try it. You will be wonderfully surprised.

Anyway, here are a few more photos. Hooray!

We are totes cuddly AND adorable.

How beautiful is this cabin?!?! I mean come on...

Resolutions

This year, I've decided to post my New Years Resolutions for all to see. Hopefully this way, I will actually follow through with them....

  1. Read at least 6 books

  2. Pay off at least one credit card preferably one and a half.

  3. Accept the fact that a few of my friends are cray-cray, and don't let it make me cray-cray too.

  4. Downsize the clutter aka become more like a turtle.

  5. Speak less of the boys that were unkind to me, and more of the ones that were.

  6. Spend less time worrying about what people are doing on facebook, and more time focusing on the above mentioned.

What are your resolutions for 2012?

New Year, New Excitement

Holy mackerel. What a bang 2012 came in with! I chose to spend my New Years Eve at a cabin in Kamas with my girl Courtney and some of her good friends. What a night! It was FREEZING seriously 10 degrees. Cars got stuck in snow. But I saw snow! After this year I pretty much forgot what snow was...

It was a wonderfully delightful NYE filled with bonfires, fireworks, food, drinks, campfires, dancing and lots of laughing and fun! I only wish I would of taken more pictures!
Here's to 2012! If last night is any indication, this year is going to be a blast!

Happy New Year

This New Year's Eve, have this be your song:
(Its going to be mine...)

We Are Young

Tonight We are young
So let's set the world on fire
We can burn brighter
Than the sun

Now I know that I'm not
All that you got
I guess that
I just thought maybe we could
Find new ways to fall apart
But our friends are back
So let's raise a cup
Cause I found someone to carry me home

The world is on my side I have no reason to run
So will someone come and carry me home tonight

Wrap It Up (Part Two)

It continues...

Every hilarious side splitting moment spent with the BFF.

And Real Games. You know I love those games.

The trip to LA with my mom in February.
Spencer and Scottie's visit. Also known as "The Best Week Ever."
Dinners at Dodo & shopping with this fabulous girl.
The love I felt at mt birthday lunch.
Every class/moment spent with this amazing teacher. I owe her more then she will ever know.
Raw Couture, my schools fashion show. Tears, laughs, and so much more went into this train wreck. There is no way I could of got through it without Kaya & Brittany. What a learning experience.
All the time spent at Sundance with this awesome girl, plus the windiest day of our life.
See these girls? Hallie & Bethany. They are remarkable, strong amazing woman. I adore them.
Ringing in the New Year with these two friends. Allison was so amazing this year. She stuck by me in a really awful situation and showed me what true, loyalty in friendship means
You didn't think I'd forget these did you? What would 2011 be without James Franco?

Unbearable. It would of been unbearable.
