A Love Letter

“People cut themselves off from their ties of the old life when they come to Los Angeles. They are looking for a place where they can be free, where they can do things they couldn't do anywhere else.” -T. Bradley

My love affair has be renewed... with Los Angeles. I honestly think I forgot how much I love that place. People often scoff when I speak my love for LA, but I don't care. Someday LA and I will be together again and we will live happily ever after. So don't you try and stop us!
Now, my extended love letter to Los Angeles:

Hi LA,
I miss you already.
I miss your beaches. I miss the ocean.

I miss your amazing shopping. I miss your diversity.
I love you palm trees so tall and lovely. We have pine trees in Utah. I hate pine trees. They make me sneeze and get a headache and a rash.

I love you Hollywood. I love you random shops. I love the chance to put my hands where great actors of the past once did.

I warms my heart that you LA get to host the Oscars every year! Nobody deserves it more.
Disneyland I could give or take LA, but I do like posing for pics with people in giant furry costumes and you did give me that so, thanks.

Windy cold, slightly miserable Santa Monica beach. You absolutely hold a special place in my heart now, for more then one reason. A few of the reasons are:

Indie Spirit Awards with my amazing Pinky friend. (MISS YOU!!!)

Parking Lot twitter talks with my E! news Sundance boyfriend the perfectly lovely Ben Lyons. (yes I'm putting two pics of him one post after another, he deserves it he is just that cute. )
Seeing this guy. (PS I win at life. WIN)

Pedicures at the weirdest Asian nail salon ever with these two fabulous people.

I miss the Pinkberry. You are everywhere in Los Angeles and are my absolutely now favorite fro yo joint. Sorry Red Mango. Pink Berry kicks your ass. I miss Urth cafe too.

I love your Electric Vehicle Charging stations at the malls. I love you blue skies! I love that when I eat at the PF Changs in Newport, I can see the ocean while I eat.

Newport, you are a dirty beach, but I heart ya kid. I miss you sea birds.

I'm even growing accustomed to your ghetto trailer park Long Beach airport.
I miss you Los Angeles.

I'll be back soon!

XOXO

Forever Yours,

Heidi

Wind. A Portrait.

So I went to Santa Monica last weekend. And wow was it windy. VERY VERY WINDY. Windy like I didn't know ever existed. Wind straight off the ocean, cold, cold, wind. Constant wind. Not gusty. CONSTANT. So now I present to you Wind. A Portrait. In Series.

"First meeting after a month apart wind" or "Wind: The start of the demise of our hair"

"Wind with Palm" or "The continued demise of our hair due to wind"

"Wow, wind makes celebs look like supermodels and I just look ROUGH"
"Sorry the wind is making my hair attack your face Jason Ritter"

"2011 Indie award winner wind" or "Lets see if a pony tail helps the wind/hair situation"
"Haggered after a day in the wind."

"The adorable Ben Lyons still looks good in a wind storm, even when he claims he is tired" or "If I put my hand by my face maybe I can control my hair from blowing in the wind for one pic"
"Fave Sundance friend in Wind" or "Ben Lyons should date me, plus wind"

"Mother and Daughter, in a wind storm" or "My hair was done for at this point thanks to the wind"

To Infinty And Beyond!

There is a Buzz Lightyear Ride at Disneyland where you try and shoot things. Somewhere in the ride it takes a pic then sends it to you via email.

Here is my pic:

Some things to note about this picture:
-How in the zone am I?!? I am on a mission to shoot space robots or something.
-The awesome, high fashion, $6.50, Disney Parks poncho my mom and I are sporting.
-The fact that I, space ranger 2 killed my mom, space ranger 1, points wise.
-That I look more washed out in space then in earth.
*Please note, we aren't really in space.

California Bound!

Well Kids, tomorrow I'm of to Sunny California! (and by sunny I mean 60 degrees and rainy 3 out of the 4 days we are there. wah wah)
My mom and I are finally taking advantage of the trip to Disneyland she won awhile back, and will be spending the next 4 days in So Cal. Sadly we booked our flight back when the Oscars are on, so that's a major fail. But, we are flying Jet Blue so maybe I'll be able to catch some of it due to them having TVs. Win. And i get to see my fabulous Pinky!
In the next few days I'll also be seeing:

Beaches and the ocean! Yay!! I love my mountains but I'm very excited to see the ocean again!

Disneyland!
Hollywood! I loves me some Hollywood!

Palm Trees. My favorite tree.

And hopefully this handsome fellow. Wish me luck!

Swoon.

New Do!

Did ya' all see my girl Jen's new do? The more I look at it the more I love it!

Now I know what you are all thinking:
"But, Heidi you love Jennifer! You think she can do no wrong!" And while its true Jen is my number one home girl. There are some times I feel she went a bit awry:
Like the time she had these stupid bangs:

Or the time she was banging this idiot:

Or the time she made this movie:

But we can't all be perfect. Anywho, Love the new do Jen. Ya look swell. XOXO

All You Need Is Love

Its Valentine's day everybody! And that means it's time for some Love quotes! This year I decided to do a song edition. Here they come...

"It takes no time to fall in love
But it takes you years to know what love is" -Jason Mraz (Life is Wonderful)

"It seems like everywhere I go
The more I see, the less I know
But I know one thing
That I love you " -Michael Franti & Spearhead (Say Hey(I Love You))

"We have fallen down again tonight
In this world it’s hard to get it right
Try to make your heart feel like a glove
What it needs is love, love, love" -Ingrid Michaelson (Everybody)

"I've looked at love from both sides now,
From give and take, and still somehow
It's love's illusions i recall.
I really don't know love at all" Joni Mitchell (Both Sides Now)

"And if I'm addicted to loving you
And you're addicted to my love too
We can be them two birds of a feather
That flock together"
-Train (If It's Love)

"Though I know I'll never lose affection
For people and things that went before
I know I'll often stop and think about them
In my life I love you more"
-The Beatles (In My Life)

"Marry me Juliet, you'll never have to be alone.
I love you, and that's all I really know.
I talked to your dad -- go pick out a white dress
It's a love story, baby just say... yes."
-Taylor Swift (Love Story)

HAPPY VALENTINE'S DAY!!!! XOXO

Car. Book. Chocolate. Cat.

People keep telling me I need to blog (coughcourtneycough) but I can't think of anything exciting to write about! So hear are some things I'm up to right now. Boring or otherwise....

Driving my mom around.
On Tuesday it snowed a lot. Then a lady lost control of her car, my mom hit her and this is the result:

(This pic really doesn't do the damage justice) It goes all down the passenger side and her other headlight is busted too.
Mom will be okay, but my nerves may not be because my mom criticises my driving so much.
Cross your fingers the insurance company gets the rental car gets worked out soon.

Reading a new book
I recently picked up my husband James Franco's new book: Palo Alto Stories
I had heard good reviews and got a good coupon to get it cheap, so I picked it up.
It's a book of short stories about teenagers growing up in the suburbs. And when I say teenagers I mean dis functional teenagers that do things like drunk drive hit a woman with their car then leave her to die. This is not a book to read before bed time. But it is a good book.

Drinking Mexican hot chocolate with whip cream everyday.

I used to go to Nordstrom and have them make it for me, but at $4 a serving, that adds up but quick. Then I found they sell it in a bag for $10! Is this still expensive for hot chocolate? Yes. But considering I can make like 28 cups, its a much better deal. Unfortunately when I make it there is no cinnamon stick or rustic setting involved.

Taking care of a sick kitty.
Diego has taken ill. This has not been cheap and it a constant stress in my everyday life. I hate that we can't communicate! I'm so worried about my little guy! Send him your positive thoughts and well wishes please!

Thanks for your time all. Have a pleasant Thursday.

PS- I think the below picture proves James Franco is not gay. I don't know one gay man that would leave the house for a public event in tennis shoes that dirty. I know plenty of straight boys that would. Not soccer players. They are weird about having clean shoes. But other straight guys.

Good News!

Great news all! My fave groundhog, Punxsutawney Phil, did not see his shadow today so that means its going to be a short winter!

SPRING IS COMING!!

I can't wait to kick this 12 degree weather to the curb and whip out my sandals and tank tops!

Doesn't the news this fab little groundhog brings just make your day a little bit better?

Three Things

Three things I totally j'adore about this picture:

1-Mila Kunis's dress is amazing. I want it. I would figure out a way to wear it EVERYWHERE.
2-Jack McBrayer was hilarious in my fave movie "Forgetting Sarah Marshall" So therefore, he wins.
3-My husband is in it.

Happy Monday all. I could use a nap...

More Sundance Fun!

A few more highlights from my Sundance weekend:

Meeting Pinky's friend, an actor, who I very much admire, Ben Foster. He is very kind and I have thought he was a very talented actor ever since I saw him in Alpha-Dog.

My annual photo and hug from my fave E! news reporter, Ben Lyons. He introduced us to his friend who I only know by his twitter name of "FatJew".

Getting in a fight with Paul Rudd and his publicist. Lets just say, When Pinky and I have been standing in the freezing cold its best to just to do what we ask and take a quick pic with us, rather then spend 20 mins explaining why you are in a hurry. You can't be that crazed. You are at a film festival. Not a ER. I think we won the fight by the way...

The lovely Liv Tyler, Ellen Barkin, and Kate Bosworth for standing up for us when the autograph hounds were being total d-bags (as then tend to do)
You can't really see it in the pic, but Liv is giving me a full on hug. :) What a doll!

Its A Marvolous Day For A Sundance...

Hey kids, sorry I have been MIA the past bit but I was up in Park City sundancing and stargazing. What fun we had! My dear friend Pinky and I took the town by storm, seeing 5 movies, and meeting over a hundred celebs in just 4 days!
Needless to say no I am completely exhausted and getting back into the swing of things has been a bit on the rough side.

Anywho,
My fave Sundance moment, obviously, was getting a pic with my husband James Franco, yes I met him last year, but now I'm obsessed with him, so it counts more.

James was getting mobbed by like 70 people. (When Pinky and I started telling this story he was getting mobbed by like 30 people. The number keeping escalating but I've chosen to cap it off at 70. Realistically it was probably like 55) Anyway, James is getting mobbed by 70 people, I saw him and screamed "Its James Fucking Franco!" Pinky immediately pushes her way through the crowd, gets her pic and then asks the beautiful Mr Franco if he can wait till her friend who is " completly obsessed with him" can get up there to take her pic with him (Side note, if you had spent the past 48 hours with me like Pinky had, you would of understand her motivation to get me up there. I had said:
"Where's James Franco. I want to find James Franco. "Why I can't I find James Franco?!?!" about 2,000 times. (Yes, that is close to the actual number of times I said it, and not and exaggeration) He said his manager had "fucked up" so he was going to be there for awhile. So thanks to Pinky and the help of another Sundance friend I made my way to my loves side. Ahhhh Bliss.

The pic was then followed by me saying the following:
"You are my favorite actor!"
"I'm totally obsessed with you!
"I love you"
"You were amazing in 127 Hours!"
"127 Hours almost made me throw up but you were amazing!"
"I Love you!"
"Can I give you a hug?"
Then the talented and lovely Mr Franco nodded his beautiful head and I proceeded to hug him. Yes, he hugged back.

For the record I will now be single forever because I am now saving myself for the idea of James Franco. And lets be honest. No man will ever be able to live up to that.

Spring Awakening

I had the lovely pleasure of attending one of my fave musicals Saturday when my mom and I went to see Spring Awakening. I saw Spring Awakening a few years back in LA and it quickly became one of my top 5 musicals. The story is beautifully tragic and the music and lyrics wonderful. If you ever get the chance, see it!
Jayleane happened to be at the same show and afterwards wanted to meet some of the
cast so we went to the stage door where I felt really old seeing as everyone in the play was like 22 years old.
The adorably cute boy pictured above played the part of Melchior Gabor. His voice was amazing. Of course we had to take a pic with him. He was very sweet and nice. Ahhh swoon...

A Truly Awesome Possum!

Today it was brought to my attention that there is a cross-eyed possum in Germany with, wait for it... The same name as me!!!
Please meet Heidi!

How lovely is she! I totally adore her. I would love to share an afternoon playing dead or eating small snacks with her!

She is so famous she even has her own plush toy and song!

Good One.

Not going to lie. I totally stole this off someone else's blog. But this is beyond awesome. Wish I would of thought of this at the time...

If someone breaks your heart, just punch them in the face.
Oh sure, it seems obvious now, but you’d be amazed at how many people don’t think of it when it’s relevant.
Seriously, punch them in the face and go get some ice cream.

Peace Out 2010

WOW.
2010 is officially O.V.E.R
Can you believe it?
I barely can. It went so fast.
I know 2010 was a hard year for a lot of people.
And ya, I guess it pretty much FAILED if you compare it to the awesomeness that was 2009.
It defiantly had a few downs.
Like cleaning up barf in a rental car in Denver, or having a friend get arrested at Snoop Dogg.
or, having my heart ripped into a million pieces.

(Who needs a heart anyhow...)

As my friend Lori says: "You got to have something to put in your suitcase."

But there was lots of good stuff too.
So I'm choosing to focus on that.

Finally getting at pic with Ben Affleck. (Don't judge I've wanted one forever.)

Starting school and keeping a 4.0 GPA ALL YEAR

Going to the Train/Earth day concert with Mayra

Renewing old friendships.

RSL's home unbeaten streak.

Making so many new truly amazing and talented friends through school.

Dance Parties with Jenny and Melissa and their dogs

Dancing and a birthday photo shoot at Circle Lounge.

Being kissed on the cheek by a goat.

Snowball fights at 2am outside Village Inn with new British friends.

Attending the Sir Paul McCartney concert with my mom.

Getting lost and finding a group of beautiful pelicans in a river by the freeway.

My totally fun internship with the fabulous Janet Gleeve.

And best thing of all to happen this year...

The birth of Fraggle. (did you really think I'd leave that out?!?)

So see! 2010 wasn't all that bad. I'm sure if you look really hard you will be able to agree.
I'm looking forward to all the 2011 has to offer. I think its going to be FANTASTIC

So much can happen! Its a brand new start! I welcome it with open arms.
